In Norway, the journey is experienced as much on the road as at the moment you switch off the engine, facing a fjord, a summit or a light that never seems to fade.
The journey begins in Kristiansand, in the south of the country, before following the wild coastline up to Stavanger. Very quickly, the landscapes change scale. From the Preikestolen car park, an accessible hike leads to one of Norway’s most beautiful panoramas, suspended above the Lysefjord.
Further north, Bergen is an essential stop before crossing the fjords. The vehicle then boards the Geirangerfjord ferry, surrounded by sheer cliffs, waterfalls and villages clinging to the mountainside.
The road continues towards Trollstigen, with its spectacular hairpin bends and dizzying viewpoints, then on to the famous Atlantic Ocean Road, which sometimes seems to run straight across the sea.
After several days travelling up the Norwegian coast, Bodø finally appears. This is where you board the boat for the Lofoten Islands, where the roads wind through fishing villages, vast beaches and mountains rising straight out of the water.
